Why study abroad?

As an ArtCenter student, you can address design challenges and explore artistic opportunities no matter where they occur by participating in a study away program. These programs enhance the total educational experience, are available to all students, and allow you to earn degree credit while gaining a more global perspective on art and design. Our international education experiences and study away programs foster student success, promote intercultural awareness, and prepare individuals to thrive in a globalized society.

The Global Programs Office is here to guide students through the study abroad process, from choosing and applying to a program, to preparing to depart, to re-adjusting, reflecting and integrating academic and career learning outcomes upon return.

Whatever your situation may be, take the time to learn about the options and resources available to you. You can start by watching this short video. All students -- no matter how they identify -- can go abroad. If you are concerned about any barriers, schedule a 1:1 advising meeting to discuss finding the right study abroad opportunity for you! It’s never too early to start planning.
