All undergraduate majors 3rd Term and up.

SCHEDULE

Students must attend an exchange student orientation prior to the beginning of the term. More information will be provided upon acceptance to the program.

*Note: Pay attention to calendar dates. In particular, spring dates may overlap with ArtCenter summer term. Students are not allowed to depart early, so plan accordingly.

ELIGIBILITY

1) Must have completed at least three terms of undergraduate study prior to term of exchange

2) Must have at least one term remaining upon return to ArtCenter

3) Must be in good academic standing.

4) Must not be on academic or disciplinary probation at the time of application

5) Must also meet any specific eligibility requirements for their chosen program.

If you do not meet the minimum eligibility requirements you still may be able to apply.

COST

If you are accepted to the program and choose to commit, you will be responsible for providing a $200 non-refundable deposit. This deposit is due within one week of your acceptance and ensures your commitment as a downpayment towards the total program fee.

PROGRAM FEE

The cost of this exchange opportunity is the same as ArtCenter tuition for the term. You will pay tuition directly to ArtCenter and be eligible to retain your regular financial aid package.

ADDITIONAL

Additional costs that you will be responsible for that are NOT included in the program fee are: round-trip airfare (when applicable), housing, visa and passport fees (when applicable), and daily personal expenses such as meals, souvenirs, toiletries, supplies, local transportation, local cell phone & minutes, etc.

Finally, student service fees and other lab fees may be charged to the student by the Host School. Students will pay the Host School directly for these costs.

NEXT STEPS

This is a two step process. First you must be nominated by your department through the ArtCenter application. To start this process, click the Apply Now button below. If a button is not visible, the application is not yet available.

Once you are nominated by ArtCenter, you will need to submit an application to the AICAD Exchange. Nomination by ArtCenter does not guarantee acceptance by the host institution.

You may choose a first and second choice program.

ABOUT AICAD EXCHANGE

Beginning Fall 2024, ArtCenter students can apply to spend a term at a leading art and design school that is a member of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD). Through the AICAD Exchange program, full-time students have the unique opportunity to attend another participating school within AICAD for one semester at no additional cost while obtaining credit towards graduation. The AICAD Exchange offers students the experience and benefit of studying at a different school and living in a different geographic area. By sharing resources and facilities, AICAD colleges offer unparalleled educational opportunities to students at AICAD schools. Most of the schools are throughout the United States, but a handful of options are also in Canada, Israel, and Singapore.

Students should explore the participating institutions’ websites below and find a program in line with their academic goals. Students will need to indicate their top choice school and can also indicate a back-up choice. For help determining if a school is right for you, schedule a 1:1 meeting with study away and also be sure to discuss your plans with your department.
