PROJECT

How might we design to connect people though food experiences? From street food to fine dining, explore how and where we dine, the tableware we use, the furniture and lighting that create the mood, whether at home, in a restaurant, or on the go.

Taste LA’s diverse food cultures through delicious field trips & studio visits Discover Southern California’s food ecologies, dining experiences & innovative designers, to drive designs that connect people, and seek to create positive social & ecological impact.

Design & make outcomes at a range of scales You may design elements—from tableware to, furnishings, lighting & surroundings, to pop-up experiences and spaces—that influence the next cross-cultural dining experience.


PACIFIC RIM 18 COLLABORATION: TAMA X ARTCENTER

Pacific Rim is a joint educational project launched in 2006 with our Japanese partner school, TAMA Art University. Design students at both schools discuss global and local topics ranging from issues of aging to Japanese traditional arts and crafts and propose innovative solutions.Students collaborate on international teams. TAMA Art University brings craft traditions & cutting edge design. ArtCenter brings industry excellence & So Cal innovation. Check out past projects here.
